Fields of Gold uses slot playing concepts most commonly seen on Classic Rainbow Riches, however Barcrest have done away with the famous and most popular of all of its features; Pots of Gold, and instead directly replaced it with the enjoyable Fields of Gold bonus game.
The main part of this slot machine has remained the same, with twenty winlines on five reels. The reels can pay significant wins made up of the Rainbow Riches symbols. The most I ever had was a full screen with one in the middle missing.

Three or more mushrooms in view awards a field of mushrooms and three picks to clear as many as you can. Hidden behind each mushroom is either a cash award or a fairy. The cash awards are totalled together and paid at the end of the bonus round. The fairy also pays a cash award then clears three more mushrooms, which again can award further fairies and cash prizes.
If you clear the entire field with at least one pick left, your prize is doubled. For three mushrooms, that would usually be around £100. Two picks left still just doubles your award, the same as one pick.

The bonus symbols can land anywhere in view on those three reels, which then opens the profitable Fields of Gold bonus coin round. The first round involves rotating coins of a low value who generally add up to around £50. What follows in a kind of repeat chance; if you hit ‘go on’ the coins increase in value and add another amount of money to the previous total. Again, once these coin have cleared a repeat chance is offered. Hit ‘go on’ again and you’ll be in the big money round. Each round is effectively a bronze, silver or gold pot just paid in a different way. It’s good fun, although pretty rare as you can imagine.
